Safety film is a clear high quality polyester film designed to make glass safer, both by strengthening it against breakage and by containment of dangerous shards in situations where breakage does occur.

Our 175 micron film, also known as "bomb blast film" is a 2 ply film and suitable for most applications where the safety of staff or the general public is a concern. High risk areas, with the potential threat of terrorism, or near a petrol station or chemical plant for example would benefit from the use of the film.
The film provides a protective barrier by holding broken glass in place, thus reducing the injuries and damage that could otherwise occur, and in some cases might contain flying masonry.  read more

These films can be used on most glass surfaces, including double glazed units.

Marking of safety film

Safety films used to comply with BS 6262-4, "Safety related to human impact", shall be correctly marked to show compliance with the relevant British Standart (BS EN 12600).

This mark shall be permanent, and appilied during installation in a position so that it will remain completely visible and readable after installation. Examples of permanent marking include non-reusable labels (e.g. perforated or brittle labels that pell from the substrate in small pieces) and UV stabilised ink printing.
